pumpkins
Hi,
I planted pumpkins, and for over a month now, I see little "baby pumpkins" show up, turn yellow, and die/rot. Any ideas on what the heck is happening? The vines look fine and vigorous, but I love pumpkin and want to be able to can/freeze some.
HELP!

Re: pumpkins
Sounds like possibly a pollination issue. The female flowers will have a little bitty squash and the male flowers will not. If the female flower is not pollinated, the small fruit will shrivel away. Male and female flowers do not always appear at the same time, either. Watch for both at the same time and have a little paintbrush ready to do the job yourself!

Re: pumpkins
Thanks for the idea....I've got a lot of bees and crawly insects, so I thought they'd take care of it, but maybe they need a boost.
Just in case...any other ideas?
TIA

I agree. Sounds like a pollination issue. If everything else looks healthy and they are getting enough water, that is the only thing I can think of. Hope you get things figured out
