If you guys and dolls are like me, you cannot bring yourself to throw away what seedlings are left over after you have allocated your space for your garden.

I have 10 feet by 2 feet of garden space that I did not have anything specific planned for this Spring.  I call it the "Leftovers."

Still, I have a couple things that there is not space for at the moment.  It will probably go in some containers, because we brought these things to life, and we will give them a chance to live it to its fullest.

The back 10 feet have a chain-length fence to act as a trellis.

On the back row, I have
Square 1--German Jonson Tomato
Square 2--Pink Ponderosa Tomato
Square 3--Cherokee Purple Tomato
Square 4--Fox Cherry Tomato
Squares 5 & 6--Boston Pickle Cucumbers
Squares 7 & 8--Japanese Long Cucumbers
Squares 9 & 10--Marketmore Cucumbers

On the front row, I have
Squares 1-4--Genovese Basil
Squares 5 & 6--Banana Pepper
Square 7--Chocolate Beauty Pepper
Square 8--California Wonder Pepper
Square 9/10--Buttercup Winter Squash

There are a few hot peppers, pickling cucumbers, and two cherry tomatoes to go into containers, which I think I will give to my nieces for their yard.

I tried to figure out how to post my spreadsheet, but I could not figure that out.

Is the Buttercup Winter Squash a vine? Will it have a trellis to climb?

We tend not to trellis our winter squash, because we have had many instances where they disappeared from the trellis.  I suspect raccoons, because we have them in abundance, and I don't think deer or bobcats eat it.

When it sits on the ground, we wrap the vines in a circular manner, and they tend to hide the squash from the animals.  My wife will mulch under the squash to keep it from rotting, and we have been lucky so far.

She grew up on a farm that produced a lot of tomatoes that were never staked, since there were several hundred of them.  She is a red-head, so you don't tell her she is wrong--ever.
