I think before, the dark part went all the way to the bottom, even on this 1, I had to look for the white part.camprn wrote:littlejo wrote:Ok, what did I do wrong? In my last post, I hit the quote button, then completed my post, as usual.

So, if in response to this post, hit reply with a quote. You will see a darker area of text at the top. Start typing in the lighter area below.
I think that this is what I did before?
Thanks,

My computer is only 14 in. so there it is not big enough to show the quote, and put reply underneath, so scroling is required. There is not much difference in the shading of the quote and where I reply. I'm going to try to maybe change the color of the quote box?

Re: New Forum Editor
Okay, normally I can figure out things on my own, but today when I try to quote someone in a reply, I cannot put my curser in the white space outside the quote box for my own reply. I could do it yesterday. I cannot today. Anyone else?
Re: New Forum Editor
Yup, I had the same experience, but I didn't take any actions like dumping cookies or rebooting to remedy the situation... I will try that when I get to my home computer

Me too! the color has been darkened so I can tell the difference in areas, but, no writing in the white area. Jo

Me three. I just rebooted to see if that was the problem. Still stuck in the earliest quote box.

Test: just testin' the quote bubble button
Ok, Tried the quote bubble button and the quote disappears before posting.......
Buggy ,
the folks at Forumation, the company that developed the software for this and many other forums, are probably working on it.

I still encourage people to read up things at forumotion and join there to voice your concerns or if you have any input. The new editor is in beta and there will be bugs.

I went to forumotion and did some reading before 'joining' so i could voice my concerns. Well, i guess we'll just have to wait til it gets out of beta. I don't think I'll be 'joining' them any time soon! jo

I joined forumotion to see what was going on the first day they started the Beta testing. I could not understand all the technical jargon but I guess you do. Looks like some forums are having real trouble but we don't seem to have too much trouble. A few problems that I am sure they are working on.

A little help with quotes.
On the far right is the Editor Mode. I believe default is WYSIWYG.

Okay, do we have to switch editor mode every time. I don't know how to switch to WYSIWYG. I clicked on the "Switch to Editor Mode" and I think this worked.

Re: New Forum Editor
You can also hit the quote button and simply enter a name. Copy and paste the text you would like quoted in between the brackets. The below example has a space right after the first bracket just so you can see the quote code.
[ quote="camp"]enter text here[/quote]
If I take that space out, it would look like this:
You can do multiple quotes this way, from multiple users.
As far as I can tell, the quote features work just fine. It's just going to take some getting used to if you aren't familiar with the different ways of doing things on a forum.
Here's a bad capture, but perhaps it will give you a better idea:
In the above example, don't forget to hit the EDITOR MODE option!!

Re: New Forum Editor
Some things are fairly simple in the new editor. For example, you can choose a color and just start typing. Then simply choose a new color and continue on! You can hit the youtube button and very easily embed a youtube video.
You can choose a color, and then hit bold and type away! Feel like underlining? Easy!! Just hit that button too. Heck, why not put it in italics while you're at it. Tired of italics? Hit the button and done. Same with underline, and same with bold. Go ahead and do a color change yet again.

Question. Have they made it so we can easily post multiple pictures, without having to post each one individually? That would be a nice addition.
