Welcome, talentetta
Saw where you had posted in another thread, but didn't want to interrupt the flow of it.

Re: Welcome, talentetta
Thanks for the welcome! I hadn't looked for my regional forum until today, after my first planting day. The first table top took awhile to engineer and build, but it is a beauty! Planted strawberries and onions. Have a bunch of seeds that will go in soon. I am using the plastic tubs I saw on Gwennifer's thread, and I notched all the support joists underneath so there is no toe-nailing. All the fasteners are hidden. I'll post some construction detail pics when I build the next one. I don't want to lift out those filled tubs....so heavy! I did SFG in Turlock, CA years ago when my kids were young. Now those kids have kids! How I miss readily available redwood for building!

Re: Welcome, talentetta
I hear ya! I am originally from NorCal, and when I asked around here in SD if they had redwood (since I didn't see any) they looked at me like I was daft and in a very slow, kind, condescending voice said, "No, Hon, you won't find any of that out here. We have pressure treated decking. You will like it much better." Harrumph!!!talentetta... wrote: How I miss readily available redwood for building!
