I checked U Line's website again and found a Safety data sheet, which indicates: Product use: insulation, construction, industrial, and horticultural applications. And Grade 4 is their coarsest one, so I guess I will give it a try. Shipping will cost $30ish, which is acceptable to me.
Btw, Valley Indoor (BC-based) carries coarse agricultural vermiculite. The president Dave Appeldoorn is very nice and answered my questions promptly. The price for the product is really good, but the cost for shipping is very high due to size and weight. Friends living near western coast are lucky!

Re: Vermiculite on the out in Ontario?
PVPind wrote:Thanks Jimmy. I wish we could help. Most of our customers in Ontario are commercial growers and buy the products in bulk bags. I've been trying to contact small distributors of years. Problem is the cost of shipping less than truckload quantities is very expensive. Same reason the internet bags are expensive. Extra packaging and handling has to be done to ensure the products don't get damaged. We have independent sales rep working hard to find these smaller distributors and hopefully will have better availability in the near future. Until then we can do the same as Perlite Canada and ship 30 bag pallet quantities preferably dock to dock. Lift gate and residential deliveries are tricky and expensive. Anyone wants to explore the option please email me.
Thank you PVPind for your posts. I did find that your vermiculite is sold on Amazon.com, but not shipped to Canada. I have some questions: if I provide a US address, somewhere in Buffalo, my friend's house, do you ship there? If so, how much does it normally cost? I may consider driving there and pick up. Another question is: will I have trouble entering Canada custom with vermiculite in my trunk? Are there any restrictions on vermiculite? Sorry for such silly questions, I'm totally new in this field.

I'm a small company that email address goes directly to me. This is not the place to handle business.
