Last night I picked about 20 cucumbers and when I brushed my hand down them tiny light brown hard dots fell off.  They weren't alive but I don't remember seeing them other years.  In the very begining of their growth I noticed tiny pin holes on the cuke with what looked like a teeny tiny bit of cucumber pushing through but as they grew it disappeared.  Not sure if these two things are related but would like to know if anyone has also experienced this.  The seeds I used were Burpee Cucumber Pickle's Choice Hybrid. Disease resistant. Thanks

Was it the little things that some cucumbers grow on the outside of their skin? Or did they move after they fell off? Do you have a photo?

They did not move and I did take a photo but could not get it to send. Last year I had pickle worm so know what that is all about and at first thought it might be that.  I was ready to pull the vines down but never did and they grew into a nice crop of cucumbers. I would just love to know what that was in the beginning on the cuke that pushed out from the inside and what is falling off them now.  It is not the spines. Thanks for your interest.

Bobbi, Can you add your State, and major city at a minimum, to your Location? That way folks know where you live, and then the folks in your area may have a better answer with a local cucumber condition. Here in central CA, I would say scale. And, it probably isn't. Wink

Thanks, I just added my city and state to my profile.  No, it is not scale and I have a feeling it may be normal and particular to that type of cucumber.  After last summer's pickle worm infestation, I may have overreacted convinced something else was attacking my cukes.
