Raj, I'm getting some technical support so you should be an official Regional Host in a day or two! At that time, I will delete this little reply.
I hope more gardeners in the huge region of Asia will start posting.

Welcome Raj. I'm the RH for the lower south, but I spend 3 months of most years in the Philippines. I don't have much success, but I still try using as close to MM as I can and using buckets. I've had a few tomatoes and a few cukes, some kale, some mustard green and a great many super hot peppers in the garden. Will be there Dec, Jan and Feb this year.

Thank you
Nice to meet you again.
True. I am trying to grow non native herbs like rosemary, Thyme from seed but its tricky, but I like both the plants. I doubt soil is not good and in my next SFG will try again.

Some pictures of the Philippine efforts. Scorpian peppers, Thai basil, and stick fig cuttings I brought from the States (no roots or leaves). Some of them are just starting to put out the little root bumps so I have high hopes of getting a few fig trees. I brought 5 varieties green ischia, celeste, brown turkey, english brown turkey, and an heirloom tree from Kure Beach NC that we don't know what it is but it produced bumper crops.

The fig cuttings so far 8 are doing well 2 are hopeful, 1 rotted and the rest are still just stick, but I hope some roots are underground.

They can be slow. Mine that sprouted one leaf last summer still only has that one leaf.walshevak wrote:The fig cuttings so far 8 are doing well 2 are hopeful, 1 rotted and the rest are still just stick, but I hope some roots are underground.
