Coastal and Tropical South USDA Hardiness zones 8-10; AHS heat zones 8-12
From Brownsville and Laredo Texas, east across southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to the Florida pan handle into Northern Florida. The lower Atlantic coast includes coastal Georgia and the Carolinas in this zone. These areas go inland from the Gulf and Atlantic only as far as those seas are able to influence the climate.
Central, south, and the Keys of Florida make up the tropical region of this zone.

season; generally the area is frost free year round but summers are
oppressively hot and humid. The best time for vegetable gardening tends
to be fall through spring (September through May) since most vegetables
cannot survive the heat of this zone.
