Fast germination
So here is a photo today of my snow peas 2 and a half weeks old from seed.
These were placed into my germination unit
on the 21st, then planted into the sfg on the 25 mar
Super impressed with the speed of sprouting, its a set and forget unit, put the seeds in on sunday check on them wed and plant out the fast sprouters otherwise take them out following weekend to plant out
Also just a random photo of my herb bed, dedicated one bed to just herbs, growth is sensational

Re: Fast germination
WOW! My peas were direct sown outside 2 weeks ago, and I currently have about 1 in tall sprouts.

Re: Fast germination
Soak your peas / beans in clean tepid water for 24 hrs , change it after rinsing them and soak another 24 hrs .rinse in clean water , drain then put them in pots in the propagator , they'll take off like rockets .
Simso ,
Are the irrigation heads pressured or gravity drip feeders or pressure fed micro misting spray heads ?

Re: Fast germination
I never thought about using my sprout system to germinate some seeds. I may try it with some beans.
Re: Fast germination
No irrigation heads or spray units inside, simply a small cat water pump in the base holder that pumps up to the top tray

I used the cat water pump as its super low volume, so 1 minute on a timer is sufficient to flood the top tray and start the siphoning through the other trays.
The trays have a built in siphoning function from the manufacturer to drain the bulk of the water away from each level
I have it on a electric timer to run 1 min twice a day,
Set and forget till the following weekend which is when i like doing my gardening
This weekend it looks like im planting out cabbages, beetroot and some more coriander

Re: Fast germination
Interesting system. Works much like the AreoGarden Seed Starter Kit that I am using this year to start the seedlings. With the AreoGarden as soon as the seedlings show their true leaves, I up-pot them in to Cow Pots to grow until they are ready for the garden.
